Performs Forensic Analysis of SQL Transaction Log

The MS SQL log analyzer tool scans a SQL database log (LDF) file and its associated MDF file. It displays a preview of data manipulation operations such as INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE and database DDL operations, such as CREATE and DROP. Also, it previews the Transaction Time, Transaction Type, and Query details. This feature helps perform forensic analysis of the records of all transactions written to the database.

After scanning, the software displays an enhanced preview of database transactions and their data. You can view Insert, Update, Delete, Create, and Drop operations performed on SQL database tables in the Preview window. Also, you can view a transaction start and end time, transaction name, and detailed query view.

After previewing the SQL transaction log file (.ldf) data, the tool saves the log file contents in a readable format. Users can save tables’ data of a log file in MDF, CSV, HTML, and XLS, and log transactions in CSV, HTML, and XLS file formats. The SQL log file analyzer tool also provides the option to save the log file data to a new or an existing database.

The SQL Log File Analyzer tool allows saving deleted or dropped transactions to a new database. Thus, it enables users to auto-create a database with all the recovered items in a SQL database. Option to Select LDF & MDF Files

If MDF and LDF files are saved in the same location, the tool automatically detects the MDF file associated with the LDF file. However, if the files are stored at different locations, users can browse the location of the MDF file by using the Select MDF option. The SQL Server transaction log viewer tool also provides the ‘Find’ option to locate LDF files saved in your computer’s drives, folders, or subfolders.

The software shows Insert, Update, and Delete transactions performed for a table. Also, users can see original and modified data of an Update transaction in the Data View. The Data View section is available at the bottom of the software interface.

Users can search for a specific item by entering its name in the search bar when viewing log tables data and log transactions in the Preview window. The tool also offers Match Case and Match Whole Word options to narrow down the search and quickly find any particular items in large SQL Server LDF files.

The software provides an option to apply a date range filter to view and save log tables data and log transactions for a specified interval. This feature saves time and effort in viewing transactions for a specific point in time. It also generates a log report of the complete LDF and MDF file saving process, including details like start and end time of the saving process, selected database version, etc.
